Our company is looking for a highly skilled and motivated General Manager Central Europe to lead our new automotive division in Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Romania. The successful candidate will have several years of experience in the automotive business and be perfectly fluid in English. Additional knowledge of Slavic languages and/or Romanian is a strong asset as well as knowledge of the remarketing business. Additionally, the candidate must have a proven track record of success and be a hands-on, results-driven leader.

Who are we?

Macadam is a leading company in inspection services that specialises in recording and reporting vehicle damage for all major OEM’s and Leasing Companies in Europe. We operate in 22 countries, with over 700 people performing 1.000.000 inspections a year. Our core activity is the inspection of vehicles, wherever you want, whenever you want.

Our Central European branch is responsible for the markets in Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Romania. In these markets a team of 40 people perform off lease inspections for major leasing companies and quality audits.

This regional office is an important branch within the Macadam organisation. Due to the important growth in the existing and new business, we expect to double the number of employees in the coming three years in those countries.

What do we expect from you:

  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire employees.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written. Additional knowledge of Slavic languages and/or Romanian is a strong asset.
  • Hands-on and results-driven, with a focus on driving growth and profitability for the company. 
  • Several years of experience in the automotive (remarketing) business, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience developing and managing budgets and financial reports.
  • Ability to think creatively and outside the box, with a willingness to take calculated risks.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks.

Your education:

  • A master’s degree in business administration, management, or a related field is required.
  • An additional degree or MBA can be an advantage in this role.

Your responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility of one of the key branches within the Macadam organisation.
  • Lead and manage a team of 40 people in the three countries and manage the doubling of staff in the upcoming years.
  • Setting up processes and systems, hiring and training employees, and establishing relationships with key partners and suppliers.
  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for the company, including goals and objectives, budgets, and marketing and sales strategies.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the automotive market in Central Europe and ensure that the company stays ahead of trends and competition.
  • Oversee all aspects of the business, including day-to-day operations and long-term planning.
